Purple Box

One box that brings any car into Apex Insights — the same telemetry, the same analysis, from a car we did not build.

  • Nothing to rebuild or instrument
  • Session video and data, kept together

Apex Insights, in any car

Apex Insights is in early access across the simulators our partners use, and is being designed into our own second-generation car. The Purple Box is the third case: a car we did not build, brought into the same platform.

Any car, one platform

Connect a car and its data arrives in Apex Insights exactly as it does from our own car and from the simulators — the same analysis, the same debrief, whatever you drive.

Nothing to integrate

It reads what the car already reports about itself. No rebuild, no bespoke instrumentation, no engineering programme before you can use it.

New cars without a wait

Supporting another car is a matter of describing it, not of waiting for a software release built around it.

Video and data together

The session is recorded alongside the telemetry and stays aligned to it, so a trace and the corner it came from are never separated.

Works with no signal

Sessions are captured at the car first. Patchy connectivity at a circuit costs you nothing — the data is already safe.

Nothing to run trackside

It starts when the car does and needs no laptop, no operator and no attention during a session.

What it means

Your car, our race engineering

A team running its own cars gets the tooling we use on ours: live telemetry, the virtual pitwall, corner-by-corner analysis and AI race engineering — without changing the car, and without a development project to get there. What a driver learns in the simulator, in our car, or in yours all lands in one place and can be compared directly.

Proven on track

Twenty-four hours, two cars we did not build

In August 2026 the Purple Box ran the 24 Hours of Zolder on two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars in the GTC class — cars we had no hand in building, entered by a team we do not run.

Data and video, from the car

One screen, both halves of the story

Telemetry and onboard video arrived together and stayed aligned, so a trace and the corner it came from were never separated. Everything the pitwall showed came from a car that was never modified for us — it was entered, and it raced.

The whole race

Every stint, right through the night

Both cars were captured from the green flag to the chequered — every stint, every stop, without a break in the record. Nothing was lost to the hours when a circuit is at its least cooperative and nobody is fresh.

To the flag

Still running at the end of it

Race control state — green, full course yellow, red flag, chequered — landed on the pitwall as it happened, alongside anything the car itself was reporting. The picture at the flag was as complete as the picture at the start.

Status

Available in limited numbers, on request

The Purple Box is not sold off the shelf. We are fitting it to a small number of cars at a time, and we take them on one at a time so each car is set up properly. Tell us what you run and we will let you know what is possible.
